Actions provides system-on-a-chip, or SoC, products and total solutions for the development and manufacture of personal media players. Personal media players are battery-powered, portable consumer electronic devices that capture, store and play digital media files such as compressed audio, image and video files. Currently the most popular type of personal media player is the MP3 player. The company’s technology allows MP3 players to store a large number of songs in a relatively small device. The company’s total product and technology solutions allow customers to quickly introduce new personal media players, including MP3 players, to the mass market in a cost effective way. Actions completed its initial public offering of 9,000,000 American depositary shares, or ADSs. Each ADS represents six ordinary shares. Credit Suisse First Boston acted as lead underwriter and sole book-runner and CIBC World Markets and WR Hambrecht + Co. as co-managers.
